The Australian Society of Ophthalmologists was formed in 1984 to represent the medico-political interests of ophthalmologists.
Today the ASO is the peak industrial and political body for ophthalmologists.
Our membership comprises the majority of Ophthalmology Fellows practising in Australia.
We are committed to advocating for our doctors and their patients to ensure that excellence in ophthalmology care is safeguarded and that equity of access to services is maintained.
The ASO enjoys a strong affiliation with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and the Australian Medical Association (AMA).
