New Cosmetic Surgery Guidelines

Earlier this month, AHPRA and the Medical Board released new requirements for doctors who both perform and advertise cosmetic surgery.

These requirements will come into effect from 1 July 2023.

These new requirements however do not apply to functional, medically justified, or reconstructive cosmetic surgery.

From 1 July 2023, all patients seeking cosmetic surgery will also require a GP referral.
